SUMMARY:‘Titian: Love\, Desire\, Death’
DESCRIPTION:Six large-scale paintings were commissioned by Prince Phillip of Spain in 1551 that chronicled the myths of love\, temptation\, and punishment. Today\, those paintings are spread across four countries\, but ‘Love\, Desire\, Death\,’ will make for a once in a lifetime experience as five of the six paintings will come together at the National Gallery in London. Prime examples of high Renaissance art\, the series was dubbed the ‘Poesies’ by Titan. While\, five will be at the National Gallery\, the sixth will also be in London at the Wallace Collection meaning visitors could see all six in one day.
